Privacy statement J. Kersten BV
We collect personal information of visitors to the J. Kersten BV website, www.kerstenbv.nl.
When we collect personal data we comply with the stipulations of the Personal Data Protection Act. Among other things this means that we:

Use of personal data
When you use our website you leave behind certain information. This may be personal information. We collect personal data in different ways.
To be able to order from our online store you need a business account. Having this account allows you to keep track of your orders, and enables you to maintain a wish list/shopping cart. When you view our website on different devices like a smartphone, tablet or computer we collect personal data as well.
It may also be that you contact us by letter, e-mail or telephone with questions and/or complaints. In such cases we will contact you in order to deal with the question or complaint. Finally, it may be that we collect data about you by means of competitions and other promotions you participated in, or if you completed a market or customer survey.
In addition, data may be collected through social media channels like Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest, for example when you contact us to ask questions. In that case we will only use your account name to allow us to respond to your message.
When you use our website we may collect the following data about you (this also depends on the information you enter yourself, for example by placing an order and/or creating an account):

- First and last name(s)/contact person;
- Gender;
- (Invoice) address;
- Delivery address;
- Date of birth;
- Telephone number;
- E-mail address;

Indirectly we collect the following data:
- Technical details of the equipment you use (e.g. your smartphone/laptop/tablet or a kiosk in the shop), such as the IP address, MAC address and software used;
- Your behaviour while on the website, including search, mouse and click behaviour, and the duration and time of your visit to our website;
- Purchase history.
The above information is used for the following purposes:
- to give you and your company/employer the option to order products from our website and use all the functionalities and services available on the website;
- to process your company order and keep you informed about its progress;
- to communicate with you by means of sending digital newsletters and/or messages;
- to offer your company personalised advertising and content (including social media messages and e-mail campaigns) on the website of J. Kersten BV and third-party websites, based on your interests and your (online) purchase history;
- to send your company/employer personalised newsletters based on your interests and your (online) purchase history;
- to store your information for possible participation in competitions and other promotions, so we can contact you if you have won something;
- to answer your questions or handle your complaints via social media, e-mail, mail or by telephone;
- to improve (at an individual level) our website, shops, product range and services, both in the physical shops and online. We do this based on: your preferences, past market and customer surveys and the use of our website by visitors.
J. Kersten BV collects and processes this personal data, which is provided by the visitor/customer upon entering into the agreement, and also when the visitor/customer gives permission to do so or for the benefit of the visitor’s/customer’s legitimate interest.
It is a compulsory and necessary condition for your company/employer to provide certain personal information in respect of a purchase to be able to enter into an agreement with J. Kersten BV. If this information is not provided J. Kersten BV will be unable to meet its obligations pursuant to your agreement, or we will not be able to properly enable you to meet your own obligations.
Retention periods
Pursuant to the fiscal retention period imposed by the tax office, we keep your data for a period of seven years after your purchase.
Data provision to third parties
In certain instances, where necessary for the implementation of the purposes outlined in this Privacy Statement, J. Kersten BV may pass personal data on to third parties.
Purchase agreement:
- Transport company, to enable delivery of your order;
If the product was purchased online, also:
- Hosting services provider of the website, including the developers;
- Payment services provider, for payments and refunds;
- Review partner, to invite customers to review the purchased product.
Other than the instances outlined above, we will not pass on information you have provided to us to other parties if you have not given you permission for us to do so, unless we have a statutory obligation or the provision of data to third parties is permitted. For example, it may be that the police requests information from us in the context of a fraud investigation. In such cases we are legally obliged to provide the requested data.
J. Kersten BV will, in principle, not provide personal data to countries outside the European Economic Area or to international organisations, unless we are required to do so in order to comply with the purchase agreement. Should this be done for other reasons, J. Kersten BV will determine if there is an adequacy decision within the meaning of the applicable legislation; if there is no such decision personal data will only be passed on if there are appropriate or suitable guarantees. Newsletter
We send out a monthly newsletter by e-mail. If you have a commercial relationship with J. Kersten BV you will automatically receive this monthly newsletter. Every communication you receive in this way will give you the option to unsubscribe if you are no longer interested in receiving the newsletter. You can also notify our customer service department that you no longer wish to receive the newsletter.
